The Department of Hospitality Management is recognized internationally as the premier hospitality management program of the City University of New York. The Department is accredited by Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration and offers both associate and bachelor’s degrees.
We invite applications for the position of College Laboratory Technician (CLT) to begin immediately. The Department of Hospitality Management seeks a College Lab Technician with food and beverage management industry experience. The CLT performs lab functions and other technical duties of a highly skilled nature that are non-teaching. For example, set-up of equipment displays and demonstrations and lab support for experiments and for research.
The Hospitality Management CLT provides support in the culinary, pastry, beverage and dining room laboratories supporting faculty, staff and student. The CLT reports to and will be supervised by the Senior CLT. The responsibilities will include maintaining the specifications set by the Senior CLT as they relate to the purchasing, receiving, storage and inventory of perishable and non-perishable goods. The CLT is responsible for maintaining the laboratories and equipment. Computer skills include MS Word, Excel and training in inventory control software. Weekend and evening hours may be required, as necessary.
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
Food and beverage management industry experience.
Computer skills including MS Word, Excel and experience with inventory control software.
