POSITION OVERVIEW Under the supervision of the Athletics Director/ Associate Athletics Director, the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations & Scheduling/Head Baseball Coach will be responsible for producing all Athletic Events from the inception (scheduling) to the game day contest and all items associated with the contest including; permits, rental of external facilities, officials, game contracts, and outreach to visiting teams. The AAD will also provide a friendly and courteous atmosphere for opposing teams, guests, fans, players, and officials at all home sporting events.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, specific responsibilities include:
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES (ADMINISTRATION):
Work with coaches to develop the competition schedule of all sports and consult with the Associate Athletic Director for all available indoor facilities.
Schedule all competitions and produce contracts for all sports.
Schedule van travel, including renting of additional vans and issuing of pouches.
Procure practice and home competition sites for all sports, including permits.
Supervise set-up and break down of events, including equipment, setting up tables, chairs, electronic, and other equipment.
Supervise the Part-Time Facilities Assistant.
Hire, train, supervise, and help evaluate all Federal Work Study students and Event Staff employees as programs dictate and guidelines allow. Collect, organize, and submit all time sheets.
Ensure that all staff and coaches' pregame protocols needs discussed and met.
All other duties as assigned or needed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES (COACHING):
Assist in the planning, management, evaluation, operation, and coordination of all aspects of the Baseball program.
Supervise and organize practice sessions, game-day coaching operations, scheduling, and team travel.
Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, City University of New York (CUNY), CUNY Athletic Conference, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA Division III) policies and procedures.
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Master's degree preferred.
3-5 years' experience in business and customer service related field preferred.
Microsoft Office proficiency required.
Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred.
Current CPR I AED certifications required.
Experience in hiring, supervising, and training staff and developing schedules to assure all work and work areas are covered.
Must be able to cover all athletics home events, including night and weekend events. Cover practices and away contests as deemed appropriate.
Must have excellent customer and staff relation skills.

Coordinates development and implementation of information and marketing materials, such as web sites
Coordinates recreation and intramural programs in support of wellness activities
Organizes, coordinates, and manages intramural and varsity sports events
Compiles and reports on statistics for NCAA and CUNY requirements; compiles reports on programs and activities
Coordinates scheduling of facilities and programs
Assists management with planning and oversight of various athletics activities
Performs related duties as assigned.
