FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Distinguished Lecturer will direct and implement the new 15 credit Certificate of Business Studies; provide instruction at the undergraduate level for several courses, emphasizing either marketing or management principles; actively engage with faculty, staff, administration and students to introduce this new program to the campus community; continue to expand the curricular offerings; advise undergraduates and help to develop in them core business competencies; work with the academic department leadership to advocate for the Certificate and assist in recruiting qualified faculty to serve as instructors in its courses; and work closely with the Cooperman Business Center to engage with the greater metropolitan area business community developing a broad pool of internship/experiential learning opportunities; and communicate to students and other audiences how the skills and proficiencies provided through an Arts & Sciences education can contribute to long term success in today’s world of business. In consultation with the appropriate department chairs, teach three courses per academic year in related business fields. In addition, cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships both on campus and with metropolitan area businesses; and work with a variety of campus offices including the Registrar, Student Affairs, and the Cooperman Business Center to recruit an annual cohort of Certificate students.
Bachelor's degree and a record of achievement in a profession or field of expertise related to teaching assignments. Also required is the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Master’s degree plus eight years related experience expected; Doctoral degree in a Business discipline preferred. Prior College teaching experience; academic Program development; familiarity with the metropolitan area business community; and strong sense of teamwork, entrepreneurship and enthusiasm desired
Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
